Yeni Kuti Says She Tolerates Unfaithfulness And Doesn't Expect Or Demand Her Man To Be Faithful

Yeni Kuti, the first daughter of the former Afro beat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and manager of his business including the Africa Shrine and mother of a child, confided in a recent interview with Nigerian Tribune, how polygamy opened her eyes on the question of unfaithfulness.
   
What the fact to have grown up in a polygamy environment taught you about marriage?
    
This experience taught me to be tolerant face to infidelity of men.    
    
Has it impacted your opinion about marriage?  
    
I have been married and I  did not expect my husband to be faithful for my marriage,. So, I don’t beg him to be faithful as for me unfaithfulness is not a reason for arguing.    
    
According to you, what can your partner do you could not accept?    
  
I hate lazy men. Unfortunately, African society focuses much more on women. For example when a woman does not give birth, one thinks immediately that woman is guilt. Nobody wonder if the problem is not due to man as a man can also be sterile. I think that woman must claim their rights.   
  
Do you think that women are the same right all over the African continent?
    
It is clear that we have more rights but rights are not equals.  
    
Why do you say that rights are not equals?    
    
I tried to buy a gun but they refuse to sell it to me because, according to them, a woman must not possess a gun.
    
Why did you try to buy a gun?    
    
Armed thieves attacked us at home and I needed a weapon to protect me.    

Are you able to shot anyone?   
    
I will shot down anybody who will attack my child or me. I have been training for shooting times ago, during this training I felt what give the envy to killers to kill all the time as it is very interesting to shot gun. To have a gun gives an unbelievable power. But unfortunately, I am authorized to possess a gun while men have the right to get how many guns they want. That makes me think that Women are the strong sex. When a man is heartbroken, he needs a longtime to cross this bad step of his life. But a woman can be heartbroken and pursue her life as things go right. On average, women overcome more easily heart breaking than man. Men need much more time...
