Basketmouth Says That His Wife Cries When He Leaves

Bright Okpocha also known as Basketmouth told recently in Encomium about difficulties he crossed in his marriage and how he manages to overcome it.

What difficulties you crossed in your marriage and how you manage to resolve them?

My difficulties are particular and are due to my job.   in fact my wife cries when I leave. She cries because I am absent. These moments were particularly difficult for us. There was a time where I left Nigeria for two months. Although I came back on three occasions in Nigeria during this long period, she cried abundantly when I had to go back the following day.

How do you manage to overcome this problem?

I did gifts. And each time I am in the country, we have fun time together. As now, she is here with me. She is with me everywhere I go.  Also, I am a houseboy in other words when I am at home I do something to help her with  home affairs, I don’t leave my house when I am back home.. I keep that time for my family; my wife and my kids.

What types of surprising job you do when you are at home?

I cook. I try to cook, because I am not a good chef. But I try to cook for my family.

Do you have some advice to give to other couples?

I don't think to have enough experience to give some advice to elder, but what I can say  is that love and the understanding  are sufficient to success your marriage. . Look at our parents, after 30-40 years of marriage, they are still together. What do you know their secret? Do you want to know how to manage your marriage? They are really patient and tolerant. The difference between them and our generation is parents are really tolerant but today’s young people are not tolerant. We don’t truly love, we are materialistic. I think, our parents should be our example now. If my dad was not died yet he would still be married. Don’t marry someone just because he/she is fine or wealthy.
